The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Teacher of Food and Nutrition to join a thriving department and contribute to a stimulating and innovative learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to teach to IGCSE Level and be involved in the sixth form Learning for Life programme, making a meaningful impact on students' education and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food and Nutrition lessons to IGCSE and sixth form students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the department’s curriculum and learning for life programme.
  • Inspire and engage students both inside and outside the classroom through innovative teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s mission and educational goals.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student well-being and development.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the Food and Nutrition field and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Food and Nutrition or a related subject.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all ages.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching IGCSE or equivalent qualifications.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or community projects.
  • Experience with sixth form or pastoral programmes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with the broader curriculum and pastoral care systems.
