The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Teacher of Food and Nutrition to join a thriving department and contribute to a stimulating and innovative learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to teach to IGCSE Level and be involved in the sixth form Learning for Life programme, making a meaningful impact on students' education and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Food and Nutrition lessons to IGCSE and sixth form students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the department’s curriculum and learning for life programme.
- Inspire and engage students both inside and outside the classroom through innovative teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s mission and educational goals.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student well-being and development.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Provide pastoral support and mentorship where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with developments in the Food and Nutrition field and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Food and Nutrition or a related subject.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of all ages.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
Preferred
- Experience teaching IGCSE or equivalent qualifications.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or community projects.
- Experience with sixth form or pastoral programmes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with the broader curriculum and pastoral care systems.
