The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives and helping them succeed in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to access all aspects of school life.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to manage the day-to-day running of the school site.
  • Provide support to pupils with attendance, well-being, and engagement in learning issues.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, school staff, and pupils’ families to develop effective support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on pupil progress and interventions.
  • Deliver targeted pastoral support and interventions to help pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Assist in the implementation of school policies and procedures related to student welfare.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in supporting young people and their families within education or social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in working with pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

Preferred

  • Experience with pastoral support in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of child welfare and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience with IT systems and software used in educational settings.
  • Experience in working with external agencies and families.
