The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Officer KS3/4, you will play a key role in supporting students’ well-being and academic progress. You will work closely with Heads of Year to ensure consistent discipline, monitor attendance, and provide tailored pastoral support. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student lives within a dynamic and inclusive school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and improve student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour across a specific cohort
  • Develop and implement pastoral support programmes tailored to individual student needs
  • Support Heads of Year in managing and following up on behaviour incidents
  • Supervise student detentions and independent study periods
  • Provide restorative mediation for students both individually and in groups
  • Liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure effective student support
  • Attend multidisciplinary forums such as TAC meetings
  • Ensure accurate and rigorous tracking of student welfare and progress

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification and Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience working with young people in Key Stages 3, 4 or 5
  • ICT competence

Preferred

  • Relevant qualification in education, social work, mediation or youth work
  • Experience in pastoral support or student welfare
