The Opportunity:

A Facilities Manager is required to manage the day-to-day operations of the school’s premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. This role is vital in supporting the school’s mission to deliver high-quality education and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of site operations, including security, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and legionella regulations
  • Oversee the work of contractors and coordinate routine maintenance and refurbishment
  • Lead and manage the site team effectively
  • Liaise with the School Business Manager to ensure smooth operations
  • Handle communication with colleagues, parents, pupils, and visitors
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to school policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in building maintenance, security, and cleaning
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and fire safety
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience in staff management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
  • Organised with attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience in educational settings or similar environments
  • Knowledge of COSHH and manual handling regulations
  • Experience with school policies and procedures
