Summary:

Pastoral Support Manager Y12/Y13 needed to support 450 ambitious students.

The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Support Manager Y12/Y13, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students through two of the most critical years of their education. You will lead a team, drive academic achievement, and champion the holistic success of students, making a meaningful impact on their personal and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transitions and support students through key academic and personal challenges.
  • Monitor academic progress and intervene where necessary to address barriers to success.
  • Implement strategies to improve attendance and behaviour, including managing the Staged Sanction System.
  • Provide safeguarding support, collaborating with the DSL and maintaining records via CPOMs.
  • Guide students in progression planning, including UCAS applications and post-16 decisions.
  • Lead and develop a team of Progress Tutors and Senior Progress Tutors.
  • Provide specialist support to Looked After Children within your cohort.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people or within an educational environment.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations professionally.
  • Ability to inspire and lead students and colleagues with energy and drive.
  • Experience in managing a team and delivering quality-assured pastoral support.

Preferred

  • Experience in safeguarding and working with Looked After Children.
  • Familiarity with CPOMs or similar student management systems.
  • Experience with UCAS applications and post-16 progression planning.
  • Leadership coaching or experience in professional development.
