Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons that align with the school’s educational philosophy and curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement engaging sport programmes with a particular focus on female sport pathways.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s co-curricular programme and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Promote a culture of health, fitness, and lifelong participation in sport.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in PE and sport education, incorporating new ideas into teaching.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential both academically and physically.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching Physical Education in a senior school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality PE lessons.
  • Experience working within a girls’ programme and female sport pathways.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of students.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and sport-based learning.
  • Ability to contribute to the school’s co-curricular and extracurricular programmes.
  • Experience with leadership roles in sport or physical education.
  • Familiarity with the Harkness teaching method or similar collaborative approaches.
