Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
  • Design and implement engaging, curriculum-focused Science programmes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of students’ scientific knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance Science teaching across the school.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall development of the Science curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science teacher with relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to Science departmental initiatives.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with modern Science teaching techniques and technologies.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
