The Opportunity:
As a Physics Subject Leader, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and inspiring students in the sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to lead and develop the Physics curriculum, supporting both staff and students in achieving outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a robust curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Support and mentor Physics teachers to enhance their practice and encourage professional growth.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate cross-curricular themes and enhance the overall learning experience.
- Represent the department in meetings, ensuring that the voice of the Physics team is heard and valued.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Physics and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide improvement strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
- Leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- Familiarity with current trends and developments in Physics education.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching other teachers.
