The Opportunity:

As a Physics Subject Leader, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and inspiring students in the sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to lead and develop the Physics curriculum, supporting both staff and students in achieving outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Support and mentor Physics teachers to enhance their practice and encourage professional growth.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate cross-curricular themes and enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Represent the department in meetings, ensuring that the voice of the Physics team is heard and valued.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Physics and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide improvement strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • Familiarity with current trends and developments in Physics education.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching other teachers.
