The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning, you will play a key role in driving academic success and staff professional development. This is a dynamic role that offers the chance to shape the future of a school with a strong reputation and a clear vision for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of teaching and learning strategies across the school.
  • Oversee and manage staff professional development, ensuring high-quality training and support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide initiatives and improve student outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices.
  • Support the management of staff workload and wellbeing, ensuring a positive working environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching standards and student achievement.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally as an Assistant Principal or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and teaching best practices.
  • Experience in leading and managing staff professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant teaching qualification and leadership experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong Ofsted rating.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trusts and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience in leading whole-school initiatives or change management projects.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and anti-racist practices.
