The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Piano Teacher & School Accompanist to join its Music department. This role involves teaching piano, providing accompaniment for performances, and contributing to the overall music program. The ideal candidate will inspire students and support the school’s commitment to academic and artistic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach piano to students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Provide accompaniment for school performances, rehearsals, and events.
• Collaborate with other music department staff to develop and deliver a high-quality music curriculum.
• Support the school’s extracurricular program by participating in music-related activities.
• Contribute to the pastoral care of students through form tutoring or co-tutoring.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for all students.
• Stay updated with current teaching methodologies and music education trends.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that align with the school’s academic standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified music teacher with relevant experience in piano instruction.
• Strong performance and accompaniment skills.
• Experience working in an international or IB setting is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

• Previous experience with the IB Middle Years or IB Diploma program.
• Experience in a co-educational environment.
• Fluency in English and other languages is a plus.
• Experience in a school setting with a strong emphasis on music and the arts.
• Familiarity with digital music tools and software.
