The Opportunity:

As a Premises Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment across two campuses. This is a vital position that ensures the smooth operation of the College and supports the learning experience of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the College’s estate, including buildings, grounds, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with College policies and procedures through regular checks and audits.
  • Assist with fire, lockdown, and emergency procedures across both campuses.
  • Support the Estates Manager and team in delivering a high standard of service.
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across all College sites.
  • Ensure full coverage of the shift rota and be available for call-outs and weekend work.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with other departments and teams.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in premises management or a related field.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and shift work.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Experience with emergency procedures and compliance checks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance and repair work.
  • Experience with fire safety and emergency management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
