Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Sociology lessons to A Level and GCSE students.
  • Support the teaching of related subjects such as Criminology and Psychology where appropriate.
  • Foster an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Social Science curriculum area to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to support student well-being and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Sociology.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in teaching A Level and GCSE Sociology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student support.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Criminology or Psychology.
  • Familiarity with AQA and OCR specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
