The Opportunity:
As a Primary Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and creative drama lessons that align with the UK curriculum and the IB framework. You will inspire young minds through innovative teaching methods and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality drama lessons that align with the UK National Curriculum and IB framework.
- Foster creativity, confidence, and self-expression in students through engaging and interactive teaching.
- Develop and implement drama-based learning activities that support cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to extra-curricular and co-curricular drama initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
- Support the school’s mission by promoting international-mindedness and global citizenship through drama education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS and a PGCE in Drama or Performing Arts or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year’s teaching experience in the UK curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching drama within an international school setting.
- Familiarity with the IB framework and PYP curriculum.
- Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular drama activities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and deliver creative lesson plans.
