The Opportunity:

As a Primary School Homeroom Teacher (Upper Primary), you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across key learning areas, supporting students in a dynamic and faith-centered environment. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about shaping young minds and fostering a love of learning within a strong Christian foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective learning and teaching activities across core subjects including English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
  • Collaborate with grade level teams to ensure consistent and high-quality instruction
  • Provide instruction in Bible and other core subjects at a single grade level
  • Support students in a nurturing and faith-based environment
  • Work with subject specialists for non-core subjects such as PE, Music, Art, and Mandarin
  • Fulfill ad-hoc duties as assigned by Senior Leaders
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture aligned with the school’s mission
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant major subject with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent teaching credential
  • At least 10 weeks of teaching practicum experience
  • Strong English proficiency in both spoken and written communication
  • Prior experience in teaching in primary schools

Preferred

  • Experience with Christian education and values-based teaching
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Curriculum or IB® World School standards
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar
