The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our SEND provision and support pupils with a range of additional needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, while contributing to a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs in their individual development and learning.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group work to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide tailored support to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with teachers and teaching assistants to maintain high-quality provision across the school.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to support pupil progress.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that is engaging and stimulating for all pupils.
  • Assist with basic hygiene needs and support pupils in gaining independence.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and learning processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience of working with children, ideally in EYFS or Key Stage 1 or 2.
  • Clear knowledge of child development and learning processes.
  • Understanding of how to support SEN pupils effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards the qualification.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering play-based learning experiences.
  • Experience in professional development or continuous learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
