As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access learning, engage in school life, and reach their full potential. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusion and dedicated to making a positive impact on young lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in individual, group, and mainstream learning settings.
  • Assist with personal care, including dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility, while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior to ensure consistent support.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment for all students.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support student needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion and high expectations for all students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Experience with personal care and support for students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of SEND frameworks and policies.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or care.
