The Opportunity:
Join a passionate and supportive Engineering and Design and Technology department as a Product Design Teacher. This role offers the chance to inspire students and shape their future in a school with excellent resources and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of Product Design and Engineering qualifications, including GCSE, A Level, and BTEC courses.
- Develop and implement innovative and engaging lesson plans that promote student creativity and technical skills.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through effective assessment, feedback, and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and share best teaching strategies.
- Maintain and manage specialist facilities, including design labs, workshops, and IT environments.
- Engage with industry partners and local employers to enhance learning experiences and provide real-world context.
- Participate in the school’s professional development programme, including weekly CPD sessions and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, competitions, and extracurricular initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology or a related subject.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support the school’s mission and values.
- Passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Product Design at GCSE and A Level.
- Familiarity with industry-standard CAD software and design processes.
- Experience with Post 16 teaching and curriculum development.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities, such as CCF or STEM competitions.
- Background in engineering or related technical fields.
