The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic, faith-based educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Religious Studies education across two secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and impactful Religious Studies lessons to students across key stages 3 to 5.
  • Support the development of students’ understanding of religious beliefs and practices, encouraging critical thinking and reflection.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a successful GCSE and A Level Religious Studies programme.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across both schools to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Promote the school’s Catholic ethos while welcoming all faiths and none.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including pastoral and extra-curricular activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Religious Studies and pedagogy, applying best practices in teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies or a related subject.
  • Ability to teach Religious Studies at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic values and ethos.
  • Experience working with students of all faiths and none.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school community.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school setting.
  • Experience with single-sex education.
  • Experience in developing and delivering the super-curriculum.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
  • Experience with safeguarding and student welfare.
