The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic, faith-based educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Religious Studies education across two secondary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and impactful Religious Studies lessons to students across key stages 3 to 5.
- Support the development of students’ understanding of religious beliefs and practices, encouraging critical thinking and reflection.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a successful GCSE and A Level Religious Studies programme.
- Collaborate with colleagues across both schools to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Promote the school’s Catholic ethos while welcoming all faiths and none.
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including pastoral and extra-curricular activities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
- Stay up to date with developments in Religious Studies and pedagogy, applying best practices in teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies or a related subject.
- Ability to teach Religious Studies at both GCSE and A Level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Catholic values and ethos.
- Experience working with students of all faiths and none.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school community.
Preferred
- Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school setting.
- Experience with single-sex education.
- Experience in developing and delivering the super-curriculum.
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
- Experience with safeguarding and student welfare.
