The Opportunity:

As a Safeguarding Manager and Deputy DSL, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students. This is a key leadership position within the safeguarding team, offering the chance to make a real impact on student lives and support the school’s mission of promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the safeguarding processes across the school.
  • Work closely with the DSL to ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Monitor and report on safeguarding incidents and concerns.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions for staff and students.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and review of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, education, or a related field.
  • Experience in a senior safeguarding role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Fluency in spoken English.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college environment.
  • Experience with child protection cases and referrals.
  • Knowledge of the Education Act and relevant safeguarding frameworks.
  • Experience in training and supporting staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
