The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding Manager and Deputy DSL, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students. This is a key leadership position within the safeguarding team, offering the chance to make a real impact on student lives and support the school’s mission of promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the safeguarding processes across the school.
- Work closely with the DSL to ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Monitor and report on safeguarding incidents and concerns.
- Coordinate with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions for staff and students.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and review of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, education, or a related field.
- Experience in a senior safeguarding role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Fluency in spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or college environment.
- Experience with child protection cases and referrals.
- Knowledge of the Education Act and relevant safeguarding frameworks.
- Experience in training and supporting staff on safeguarding matters.
- Experience in working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
