The Opportunity:

As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. This is a key position that supports the school's mission of fostering a secure and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff through proactive safeguarding measures.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Manager to implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, staff, and families in cases of concern.
  • Attend relevant training and stay up to date with safeguarding best practices and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding-related incidents and actions.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals as needed to support vulnerable students.
  • Participate in staff development and training sessions focused on safeguarding and child protection.
  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding strategies and initiatives across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in safeguarding, child protection, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in education settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the welfare of students and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, education, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or college environment.
  • Knowledge of mental health first aid or similar training.
  • Experience with OFSTED or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student support services.
