The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. This is a key position that supports the school's mission of fostering a secure and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff through proactive safeguarding measures.
- Collaborate with the Safeguarding Manager to implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to students, staff, and families in cases of concern.
- Attend relevant training and stay up to date with safeguarding best practices and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding-related incidents and actions.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals as needed to support vulnerable students.
- Participate in staff development and training sessions focused on safeguarding and child protection.
- Contribute to the development of safeguarding strategies and initiatives across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in safeguarding, child protection, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in education settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the welfare of students and staff.
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, education, or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or college environment.
- Knowledge of mental health first aid or similar training.
- Experience with OFSTED or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with pastoral care or student support services.
