The Opportunity:
As a School Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and governors to support the strategic direction and development of the institution, while managing key areas such as finance, HR, compliance, and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Oversee health and safety protocols to ensure a secure and compliant working environment.
- Lead and support the management of human resources, including staff development and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including data protection and safeguarding policies.
- Coordinate administrative functions to support the effective running of the school.
- Promote the school’s values and ethos to staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support the school in maintaining strong pupil numbers and community engagement across all key stages.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in managing a school business function, including financial and HR responsibilities.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, governors, and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working within a Catholic school environment and understanding of the associated ethos.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety, compliance, and financial management procedures.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting with a focus on strategic development and long-term planning.
- Experience in managing and developing teams within an educational environment.
- Familiarity with school improvement and Ofsted standards.
