The Opportunity:

As a PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among young students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that encourage teamwork, discipline, and personal achievement in a fun and motivating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement lessons for Reception to Key Stage 2 children in ball skills, team games, gymnastics, and dance.
  • Organise and facilitate team game matches internally and with neighbouring schools.
  • Conduct before or after school practice clubs to enhance students’ sports skills.
  • Maintain and update PE curriculum content, materials, and teaching methods.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress.
  • Introduce and teach the correct use of a variety of sports equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student development and school events.
  • Review and update the PE Policy annually to ensure alignment with school goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching PE at the primary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills to ensure a respectful and effective learning environment.
  • Ability to motivate pupils and promote positive attitudes to learning.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Understanding of differentiated planning and assessment to support individual pupil needs.
  • Professional approach to school policies, expectations, and community involvement.

Preferred

  • Experience with Sports Day planning and organisation.
  • Confidence in working with parents and colleagues.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining sports equipment and resources.
