The Opportunity:
As a PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among young students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that encourage teamwork, discipline, and personal achievement in a fun and motivating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement lessons for Reception to Key Stage 2 children in ball skills, team games, gymnastics, and dance.
- Organise and facilitate team game matches internally and with neighbouring schools.
- Conduct before or after school practice clubs to enhance students’ sports skills.
- Maintain and update PE curriculum content, materials, and teaching methods.
- Keep accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress.
- Introduce and teach the correct use of a variety of sports equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student development and school events.
- Review and update the PE Policy annually to ensure alignment with school goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience teaching PE at the primary level.
- Strong classroom management skills to ensure a respectful and effective learning environment.
- Ability to motivate pupils and promote positive attitudes to learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Understanding of differentiated planning and assessment to support individual pupil needs.
- Professional approach to school policies, expectations, and community involvement.
Preferred
- Experience with Sports Day planning and organisation.
- Confidence in working with parents and colleagues.
- Experience in developing and maintaining sports equipment and resources.
