The Opportunity:
As a School Business Manager, you will play a key role in driving the school’s strategic vision and ensuring its smooth operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the school’s operational and financial functions, including budgeting, strategic planning, and cost control.
- Oversee human resources, payroll, and pre- and post-employment checks, ensuring compliance and professional development.
- Ensure the effective management of health and safety protocols, including fire safety procedures.
- Coordinate and manage the school’s meals service contract, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Supervise premises management, including lettings and extended school provision.
- Provide line management support to office, premises, and cleaning staff.
- Lead the development and implementation of school policies, with a focus on data protection and safeguarding.
- Offer strategic and financial support to the leadership team and governors.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in school business management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Experience in human resources, payroll, and employment law.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting or within the education sector.
- Familiarity with data protection and safeguarding policies.
- Experience in policy development and implementation.
- Background in fundraising or grant management.
