The Opportunity:

As a School Business Manager, you will play a key role in driving the school’s strategic vision and ensuring its smooth operation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the school’s operational and financial functions, including budgeting, strategic planning, and cost control.
  • Oversee human resources, payroll, and pre- and post-employment checks, ensuring compliance and professional development.
  • Ensure the effective management of health and safety protocols, including fire safety procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the school’s meals service contract, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Supervise premises management, including lettings and extended school provision.
  • Provide line management support to office, premises, and cleaning staff.
  • Lead the development and implementation of school policies, with a focus on data protection and safeguarding.
  • Offer strategic and financial support to the leadership team and governors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in school business management or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in human resources, payroll, and employment law.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting or within the education sector.
  • Familiarity with data protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Background in fundraising or grant management.
