School Counsellor needed to support student wellbeing and safeguarding in an international school.

The Opportunity:
As a School Counsellor, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing and ensuring safeguarding practices meet the highest standards. You will provide expert support to students, working closely with staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate a whole-school approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Provide high-quality counselling support to students and their families.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures align with UK statutory guidance and international best practice.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student needs.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff on safeguarding and wellbeing issues.
- Monitor and report on safeguarding cases in accordance with legal and institutional requirements.
- Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives that promote student welfare.
- Support students in managing personal, social, and emotional challenges.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant degree in counselling, social work, or a related field.
- Qualified and experienced school counsellor with a proven track record in safeguarding.
- Knowledge of UK safeguarding frameworks and international adaptations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in an international or multicultural school environment.
Preferred
- Experience with the British curriculum or international curricula such as IGCSE or IB.
- Familiarity with Spanish or Catalan language a plus.
- Experience in providing pastoral care and support to students of all ages.
- Understanding of child development and mental health support.
