The Opportunity:
As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will inspire students with your passion for the subject and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 to Sixth Form. You will play a key role in maintaining high academic standards and supporting students in achieving their personal and academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, creative and dynamic lessons aligned with the GCSE and IB syllabus.
- Promote independent learning and critical thinking in students through practical and engaging activities.
- Maintain and enhance the school’s reputation for academic excellence in your subject area.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new learning initiatives across the school.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Uphold the school’s values and ethical standards in all aspects of teaching and behaviour.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
- Contribute to the continuous professional development of the teaching team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and beyond.
- Experience in delivering the GCSE and IB syllabus for your subject.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with a proven ability to design engaging and effective lessons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with international curricula such as the IB or IGCSE.
- Familiarity with teaching in a multicultural and international environment.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and curriculum development.
- Proficiency in Spanish or Catalan language skills.
