The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as an HLTA - Communication and Interaction Support, making a meaningful impact on students aged 11–16 with additional needs. You will provide targeted support across mainstream and intervention settings, working collaboratively with teachers and families to enhance learning outcomes and promote inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning through small-group and individual interventions.
  • Contribute to assessment and review processes to ensure student progress is effectively tracked.
  • Work closely with teachers, families, and the SEND team to identify and remove barriers to learning.
  • Deliver tailored support that aligns with the school’s inclusive practices and curriculum vision.
  • Collaborate with the SEND team to plan, review, and refine support strategies.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure consistency and coherence in student support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance practice and knowledge.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in supporting students with additional needs in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student-centered support.
  • Proven ability to deliver targeted interventions and support.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a Resource Base or specialist SEND provision.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and assessment practices.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery in a secondary school context.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with using assistive technologies or communication tools.
