Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and National Curriculum standards.
- Take responsibility for the progress, behaviour, and achievement of students in allocated classes.
- Develop and implement effective schemes of work that support student learning and engagement.
- Mark and assess student work in accordance with school policies and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with Form Teachers and Pastoral Staff to support students’ academic and personal development.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, including pastoral care, supervision, and student welfare.
- Ensure the safe use of Science equipment and resources in line with Health and Safety regulations.
- Contribute to the school’s appraisal process and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently on PGCE with QTS pending.
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum, including GCSE and KS4 requirements.
- Ability to plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to the school’s policies on inclusion, welfare, and equal opportunities.
Preferred
- Background in Physics or other Science specialisms.
- Experience with Science and STEM facilities and resources.
- Enthusiasm for whole-school initiatives and involvement in pastoral work.
- Experience in form tutoring or student supervision.
