The Opportunity:
As a Science Technician, you will provide essential technical support to the Science department, ensuring that resources and equipment are well-maintained and available for use by both staff and students. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain science equipment and resources for use by staff and students.
- Work collaboratively with Science department staff to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Support students in practical science lessons and experiments.
- Follow instructions and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in challenging situations.
- Adapt to new ideas and respond appropriately to a variety of situations.
- Uphold strong moral and ethical principles in all interactions.
- Contribute to the well-being of students and maintain a positive school environment.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained according to safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience with science equipment and laboratory resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students and staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and remain calm under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and ethical working environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of science curriculum requirements.
- Experience with Continuing Professional Development and training programs.
- A good sense of humour and ability to work as part of a team.
