The Opportunity:

The Director of Inclusion & Associate SENCO will lead and manage whole-school inclusion, nurture provision, and supportive SEND practice, delivering a vision that promotes access and achievement for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage whole-school inclusion, nurture provision, and SEND practice.
  • Develop and implement inclusive curriculum pathways for vulnerable learners.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the SEND department.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to deliver effective SEND provision.
  • Promote and reinforce the school’s values of high care and high challenge.
  • Inspire and motivate the school community through inclusive practice.
  • Ensure equality and equity objectives are met across all learning outcomes.
  • Support the transition of students between phases with a focus on SEND needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience, ideally within the primary phase.
  • Experience in mainstream secondary and specialist SEND provision.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive practice and pastoral care.
  • Excellent classroom practice and leadership qualities.
  • Commitment to high standards and student achievement.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience with transition of students between phases.
  • Additional experience in alternative and/or specialist SEND provision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and strategy in inclusion practices.
