The Opportunity:

As a School Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a school. This position is essential for maintaining a professional and welcoming front for the school community, ensuring that administrative tasks are handled efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school’s administrative and reception functions with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Provide a high level of support to the Head, Leadership Team, and other staff members.
  • Coordinate school events and ensure all communications are handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and manage school correspondence.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a smooth and efficient working environment.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure that all administrative tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of administration experience in a busy office or reception environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A professional and friendly approach to customer service.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with educational policies and procedures.
  • Experience with school administration software or systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Part-time working hours (2 or 3 days per week), term time only plus 10 days.
