As a Reception Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the early learning experiences of young children. You will lead with warmth, creativity, and expertise, delivering engaging lessons that align with the EYFS curriculum and embody the school’s core values. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons aligned with the EYFS curriculum
- Create a nurturing, stimulating environment that fosters children’s wellbeing and development
- Use high-quality assessment to inform next steps and support individual learning needs
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Pre-Prep, colleagues, and a Learning Assistant
- Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to the wider life of the school
- Promote the school’s ROCCK values: Respect, Opportunity, Curiosity, Courage, and Kindness
- Support children in developing essential life skills and a love of learning
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a PGCE and QTS specialising in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning
- Commitment to exceptional pastoral care and safeguarding
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
Preferred
- Paediatric first-aid qualification
- Experience in Forest School or additional EYFS training
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL)
- Passion for early years education and inclusive practice
