The Opportunity:

As the Head of Science - Junior School, you will lead and inspire the teaching of Science across the Junior School, nurturing curiosity and preparing students for future studies in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Science curriculum across the Junior School.
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for Science.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure high-quality, engaging Science lessons.
  • Monitor and support the professional development of Science staff.
  • Work closely with the Senior School to ensure a seamless transition for students.
  • Promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking through innovative teaching methods.
  • Ensure Science education aligns with the school's academic and pastoral goals.
  • Develop and implement Science-related co-curricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Experience in leading and managing Science departments in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to inspiring and nurturing student potential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or values-based educational environment.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and assessment systems.
  • Experience with cross-phase collaboration between Junior and Senior Schools.
  • Strong understanding of Science education and curriculum development.
