The Opportunity:
As the Head of Science - Junior School, you will lead and inspire the teaching of Science across the Junior School, nurturing curiosity and preparing students for future studies in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of scientists and make a lasting impact on young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the Science curriculum across the Junior School.
- Inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for Science.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure high-quality, engaging Science lessons.
- Monitor and support the professional development of Science staff.
- Work closely with the Senior School to ensure a seamless transition for students.
- Promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking through innovative teaching methods.
- Ensure Science education aligns with the school's academic and pastoral goals.
- Develop and implement Science-related co-curricular activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
- Experience in leading and managing Science departments in a school setting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to inspiring and nurturing student potential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Preferred
- Experience in a Catholic or values-based educational environment.
- Familiarity with the UK curriculum and assessment systems.
- Experience with cross-phase collaboration between Junior and Senior Schools.
- Strong understanding of Science education and curriculum development.
