The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Science Laboratory Technician to support a successful and growing science department. This is an excellent opportunity for recent science graduates or experienced technicians to join a team committed to student success and high standards of education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain science laboratory equipment and resources to ensure safe and effective teaching.
  • Prepare and organize experiments, chemicals, and materials for science lessons and examinations.
  • Support science teachers in delivering high-quality practical lessons and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory environment.
  • Assist with the maintenance of laboratory records and inventory systems.
  • Collaborate with the science department to develop and implement laboratory procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions and independent study.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices and student learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualification in science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory or technical role, or recent science graduate.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to the Every Child, Every Day academy trust.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting or with teaching support.
  • Knowledge of science curriculum and practical teaching methods.
  • Experience with laboratory safety standards and procedures.
  • Computer literacy with experience in using relevant software and systems.
