The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Science Laboratory Technician to support a successful and growing science department. This is an excellent opportunity for recent science graduates or experienced technicians to join a team committed to student success and high standards of education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain science laboratory equipment and resources to ensure safe and effective teaching.
- Prepare and organize experiments, chemicals, and materials for science lessons and examinations.
- Support science teachers in delivering high-quality practical lessons and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory environment.
- Assist with the maintenance of laboratory records and inventory systems.
- Collaborate with the science department to develop and implement laboratory procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions and independent study.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices and student learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualification in science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a laboratory or technical role, or recent science graduate.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to the Every Child, Every Day academy trust.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
Preferred
- Experience in an educational setting or with teaching support.
- Knowledge of science curriculum and practical teaching methods.
- Experience with laboratory safety standards and procedures.
- Computer literacy with experience in using relevant software and systems.
