The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its expanding Upper School site in August 2026. The role involves teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and IGCSE, with a focus on inspiring students and delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and IGCSE, ensuring students are engaged and motivated.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational standards and international qualifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support departmental goals.
  • Assess and monitor student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support students in developing a love for Science and a lifelong curiosity for learning.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Stay up-to-date with current developments in Science education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
  • A recognised teaching qualification: BEd; PGCE; iPGCE or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of the UK-based curriculum and experience teaching students in all phases
  • Sound understanding of the assessment requirements for KS3 and IGCSE Science
  • Proven track record in teaching Science at secondary level
  • Fluency in English

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an International School environment
  • Experience teaching learners who have English as an Additional Language
  • Experience with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus
