The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our Secondary team. This role involves delivering high-quality Physics instruction across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including Cambridge and IB programmes. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on student learning and contribute to the school’s academic and pastoral environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and effective Physics lessons aligned with Cambridge and IB frameworks.
- Ensure the development of deep conceptual understanding, practical competence, and analytical skills in students.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement in the classroom.
- Use formative and summative assessments to inform planning, provide feedback, and support student progress.
- Manage laboratory resources and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students to support curriculum development and pastoral care.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, academic mentoring, and university preparation initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding student progress and attend departmental meetings and training events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or iPGCE)
- A degree in Education or a related subject
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
Preferred
- Experience teaching within a British or international school setting
- Familiarity with Cambridge and IB curricula
- Experience with Theory of Knowledge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
