The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our Secondary team. This role involves delivering high-quality Physics instruction across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including Cambridge and IB programmes. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on student learning and contribute to the school’s academic and pastoral environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and effective Physics lessons aligned with Cambridge and IB frameworks.
  • Ensure the development of deep conceptual understanding, practical competence, and analytical skills in students.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement in the classroom.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to inform planning, provide feedback, and support student progress.
  • Manage laboratory resources and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students to support curriculum development and pastoral care.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, academic mentoring, and university preparation initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding student progress and attend departmental meetings and training events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or iPGCE)
  • A degree in Education or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

Preferred

  • Experience teaching within a British or international school setting
  • Familiarity with Cambridge and IB curricula
  • Experience with Theory of Knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
