Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging science lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and IB framework.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and critical thinking.
  • Plan and assess student progress using a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular learning experiences.
  • Support students in developing scientific literacy and problem-solving skills.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Promote the school’s values of international-mindedness and global citizenship through teaching and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) or PGCE, plus a degree in the subject area taught, in line with KHDA regulations.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science and proven experience in teaching at a similar level.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience working in an international school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
  • Familiarity with the English National Curriculum.
  • Experience in developing inquiry-based and student-centred learning approaches.
  • Knowledge of BTEC or other vocational qualifications.
