Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Design and implement practical, well-resourced lessons with a strong emphasis on scientific enquiry and literacy.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum plans and assessments.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes through effective use of assessment and targeted intervention.
  • Promote curiosity and scientific thinking through engaging extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs and science-based trips.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and conducive to learning.
  • Engage with external partners, including STEAM organisations and universities, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in professional development and coaching opportunities to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Commitment to delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that promote student achievement.
  • Experience in using assessment to drive progress and support student learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to departmental planning and development.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student groups.
  • Background in STEAM-related activities or partnerships with external organisations.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular science initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and engagement in Science.
