The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support the Science Faculty in delivering practical lessons and maintaining a safe, compliant laboratory environment. This role is essential in ensuring that students receive a high-quality science education and that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage laboratory equipment for practical lessons
• Ensure the safe disposal of chemicals and management of ionisation and radioactive materials
• Conduct regular stock takes and manage laboratory inventory
• Retrieve and store equipment as required
• Maintain compliance with COSHH and CLEAPSS regulations
• Support the Faculty Leader in any additional duties as needed
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment for students and staff
• Assist in the development and delivery of science-based practical activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Good working knowledge of COSHH and CLEAPSS regulations
• Experience working in an educational establishment
• Commitment to supporting and developing young people
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Previous experience in a laboratory or science-related role
• Experience with the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials
• Knowledge of health and safety best practices in an educational setting
• Experience with stock management systems
