The Opportunity:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting science teaching and learning within a small, dedicated team. Your passion for science and commitment to student success will contribute to a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support science teachers in the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Assist in the delivery of practical science lessons and experiments.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of all laboratory resources in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory.
- Collaborate with science staff to develop and implement science-related activities and projects.
- Promote a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
- Provide technical support during science lessons and extracurricular events.
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and technology.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in science or a related field.
- Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a science laboratory.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards in a laboratory environment.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or supporting science teaching.
- Familiarity with modern science teaching methods and technologies.
