The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting science teaching and learning within a small, dedicated team. Your passion for science and commitment to student success will contribute to a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support science teachers in the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Assist in the delivery of practical science lessons and experiments.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all laboratory resources in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory.
  • Collaborate with science staff to develop and implement science-related activities and projects.
  • Promote a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
  • Provide technical support during science lessons and extracurricular events.
  • Stay up to date with developments in science education and technology.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in science or a related field.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a science laboratory.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in a laboratory environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or supporting science teaching.
  • Familiarity with modern science teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with science outreach or community engagement projects.
