Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to GCSE and A Level using the Edexcel specification.
- Create engaging and challenging learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and academic achievement.
- Support the pastoral care of students, ensuring their academic and social development is balanced and holistic.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum content.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Identify and address safeguarding concerns in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 English Teacher with appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or PGCE).
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE and A Level.
- In-depth knowledge of the Curriculum for England and Wales and its associated assessment practices.
- Strong commitment to the pastoral care of students and the promotion of their well-being.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach to professional development.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with the British curriculum and its delivery in an international context.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop creative teaching resources.
