The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to GCSE and A Level using the Edexcel specification.
  • Create engaging and challenging learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and academic achievement.
  • Support the pastoral care of students, ensuring their academic and social development is balanced and holistic.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum content.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Identify and address safeguarding concerns in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 English Teacher with appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or PGCE).
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE and A Level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Curriculum for England and Wales and its associated assessment practices.
  • Strong commitment to the pastoral care of students and the promotion of their well-being.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach to professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with the British curriculum and its delivery in an international context.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop creative teaching resources.
