Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student inquiry and critical thinking.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and support student success.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities and science-related events.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting values such as respect, open-mindedness, and global citizenship.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of science education and integrate new teaching methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor's of Education or PGCE with a degree in Chemistry or a related science subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at the secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of the IB curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and student-centred teaching approaches.
  • Experience with the Career-related Programme (IBCP) or IB Diploma Programme.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in a second language.
