The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Secondary English Teacher for a short-term maternity cover contract from May to June 2026. The ideal candidate will be a LOCAL HIRE and will support students across Grades 6–12 within the High School Diploma and/or IB Diploma Programme, ensuring continuity of high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English in Grades 6–8 and Grades 9–12 (HSD and/or IBDP, depending on timetable).
• Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
• Implement existing schemes of work, assessment practices, and curriculum expectations.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.
• Communicate professionally with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Support the wider life of the school during the cover period, including enrichment activities.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and professional conduct expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant English / Literature discipline.
• Valid teaching certification meeting Qatar MoEHE requirements.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant teaching experience.
• Experience teaching English at High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, and/or A Level.
• Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills.
• A professional, adaptable, and collaborative approach suited to a maternity cover role.

Preferred

• Experience teaching IB DP English.
