Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative French lessons to Secondary students, focusing on IGCSE and A-level curriculum.
  • Develop and implement effective schemes of learning that reflect curriculum changes and pedagogical best practices.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages high expectations, student motivation, and academic achievement.
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s vision and mission.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students to support student progress and well-being.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning in line with Teachers’ Standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
  • A certified teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching French in a Secondary setting, preferably within the Cambridge International Curriculum or the National Curriculum of England and Wales.
  • Strong understanding of pedagogy and effective teaching practices.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in writing schemes of learning and adapting to curriculum changes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching IGCSE and A-level French.
  • Experience working in an international school setting.
  • A B or C permit to work and live in Switzerland.
