The Opportunity:
A Secondary Robotics and Design Teacher is needed to inspire high school students through hands-on learning in robotics and digital design. This role supports a unique STEAM vision by bridging engineering and art, while contributing to a culture of innovation and 21st-century skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Robotics to high school students using platforms such as Tetrix, LEGO EV3, and SPIKE Prime.
- Collaborate with the Art Department to support digital art units using tools like Tinkercad and SketchUp.
- Integrate coding, design thinking, and digital fabrication into project-based learning experiences.
- Support school-wide STEM and STEAM initiatives, events, and competitions.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, curiosity, and 21st-century skill development.
- Develop and deliver curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals and international standards.
- Mentor and support students in developing technical and creative skills through real-world applications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and teaching methodologies in robotics and design.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as Engineering or Technology.
- PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching robotics and/or engineering at the middle or high school level.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Tinkercad and SketchUp.
- Experience with the American curriculum and project-based learning.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
Preferred
- Experience integrating technology into Art or Design curriculum.
- Familiarity with SketchSchool or other creative tech platforms.
- Background in architecture, product design, or industrial design.
- Prior involvement in STEM/STEAM leadership or innovation initiatives.
- Passion for interdisciplinary teaching and real-world applications of learning.
