The Opportunity:

As a Secondary School Deputy Head, you will play a pivotal role in leading the English and Literature department, ensuring academic excellence and supporting the Head of Secondary School in driving school-wide operations. This is an opportunity to shape curriculum, mentor staff, and foster a vibrant learning environment aligned with the UK-IGCSE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management and development of the English and Literature department
  • Support the Head of Secondary School in managing daily operations and academic standards
  • Lead curriculum development aligned with UK-IGCSE requirements
  • Mentor and develop teaching staff to enhance instructional quality
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
  • Promote collaboration among staff and stakeholders
  • Implement strategies to improve student achievement and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and international educational standards

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field; advanced degrees preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in secondary education
  • Proven leadership experience within an international school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the UK IGCSE curriculum with a focus on English and Literature
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and promote collaboration

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or academic leadership roles
  • Familiarity with international education standards and best practices
  • Experience with student-centered learning approaches
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and diversity initiatives
