The Opportunity:
As a Secondary Teacher (SEN), you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs across the secondary age range. This is an opportunity to shape positive learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and long-term success in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of students with additional needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure all students can access and engage with their education.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support academic and personal development.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive relationships and resilience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using outcomes to inform teaching strategies and intervention planning.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide consistent support.
- Prepare students for future pathways by developing independence, life skills, and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and safeguarding requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- UK QTS (or equivalent) with a relevant degree. Non-qualified teachers with significant experience may also be considered.
- Experience supporting students with SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
- Ability to build trust and support students who may have faced significant challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred
- Experience with individual education plans (IEPs) and specialist support strategies.
- Background in therapeutic or pastoral support for students with complex needs.
- Experience in outdoor or experiential learning environments.
