The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Visual Arts & Design Technology Teacher to join its growing team. This role offers the chance to contribute to the development of the IB MYP curriculum and support a dynamic department that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach visual arts and design technology to students in grades 6-9 following the IB MYP framework.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that foster student creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-disciplinary projects and resources.
  • Support the department by contributing to design-related teaching, including textiles and 3D arts.
  • Promote student learning, wellbeing, and safeguarding in line with the school’s values.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and innovations in arts and design education.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and/or Design.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE / QTS / Teaching Licence).
  • Proven experience teaching visual arts and/or design technology.
  • Experience working with students in grades 6-9 or equivalent curriculum.
  • A collaborative working style and commitment to student learning and wellbeing.

Preferred

  • IB MYP arts and/or design experience with certified training (CAT 1, 2 or 3).
  • Experience using specialist tools and equipment in a practical setting.
  • Ability to develop design resources and planning materials.
  • Flexibility to adapt to an international school environment.
