The Opportunity:

As a Swim Teacher, you will deliver engaging swimming lessons to students of all ages and abilities, helping them develop confidence, technique, and aquatic skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons across multiple school campuses
  • Lead after-school and community swimming sessions while supporting the curriculum
  • Coach students ranging from beginners to advanced swimmers
  • Develop and implement lesson plans focused on technique, water safety, and progression
  • Ensure all sessions are delivered in line with safety, safeguarding, and health protocols
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and provide regular progress feedback
  • Support competitions, holiday camps, and aquatic events
  • Promote a positive image of the school within the wider community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience coaching children in a school, club, or community setting
  • Strong knowledge of swimming instruction and progression
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
  • Ability to motivate and engage swimmers of all abilities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible availability for afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends

Preferred

  • Minimum Level 2 Swimming Coach Qualification (certified by STA or Swim England)
  • Valid Lifeguard Qualification
  • Safeguarding / Child Protection training
  • Valid police clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Driving license
