The Opportunity:
As a SEN Maths Teacher KS3-4, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of students with special needs. You will deliver high-quality maths instruction tailored to individual learning styles and support them in achieving their full potential within a small class setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach maths to students with autism and other special educational needs at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Design and implement individualised learning plans that cater to diverse needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with learning support assistants and the therapeutic team to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and achievement against set targets.
- Provide regular and detailed reports to parents, carers, and senior leadership.
- Uphold the school’s ethos and values in all aspects of teaching and behaviour management.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching practice and safeguarding knowledge.
- Work within the framework of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and professional teaching standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching maths to students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of teaching strategies for students with autism and ADHD
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
Preferred
- Experience with individualised learning and 1:1 support
- Familiarity with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
- Experience in behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
- Knowledge of educational frameworks for students with complex needs
