The Opportunity:

As a SEN Maths Teacher KS3-4, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of students with special needs. You will deliver high-quality maths instruction tailored to individual learning styles and support them in achieving their full potential within a small class setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach maths to students with autism and other special educational needs at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Design and implement individualised learning plans that cater to diverse needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with learning support assistants and the therapeutic team to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and achievement against set targets.
  • Provide regular and detailed reports to parents, carers, and senior leadership.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and values in all aspects of teaching and behaviour management.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching practice and safeguarding knowledge.
  • Work within the framework of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and professional teaching standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching maths to students with special educational needs
  • Strong understanding of teaching strategies for students with autism and ADHD
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare

Preferred

  • Experience with individualised learning and 1:1 support
  • Familiarity with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
  • Experience in behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Knowledge of educational frameworks for students with complex needs
