The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs by creating personalised learning experiences that empower them to reach their full potential. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on student growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons aligned with the school curriculum
- Monitor, assess, and celebrate student progress through regular evaluations
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans, behaviour plans, and learning pathways
- Create a safe, structured, and motivating classroom environment for students
- Collaborate with support staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
- Contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school development initiatives
- Organise resources and learning materials that promote student engagement
- Ensure all activities, both on and off site, are planned with pupil safety and risk management in mind
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with primary or secondary training
- Passionate and empathetic, with a commitment to inclusive education
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students
- Experience in supporting students with additional needs and complex behaviours
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs
- Collaborative team player with experience working in multidisciplinary environments
- Full UK driving licence
Preferred
- Experience in developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans
- Knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies for students with SEMH needs
- Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools
- Experience in curriculum development or whole-school initiatives
